Set up & welcome players in
Arrive ~15 minutes early, and check players in as they arrive. New faces show up nervous more often than you'd thinkm a quick hello and a name remembered is what turns a one-off player into a regular.
Balance the teams
Split players into fair, mixed-level sides before kickoff so the game stays competitive and fun for everyone.
Manage the game
Keep things running once it starts: sub rotations if numbers are uneven, timekeeping, and stepping in if there's a dispute on the pitch.
Wrap up & keep the community going
Log the score and any no-shows so stats stay accurate, and give the group a reason to come back, a shoutout, a good pass remembered, an easy nudge after the game to come back next week
